What kind of product or service is it?
EcoCocon’s load-bearing wall elements are custom-made for each project and consist of 98% biomaterials, mainly straw and wood. The products have, among other things, Cradle to Cradle and Passive House certificates. The tested and certified straw panel system is manufactured industrially in two factories. It is ideal for both small houses and large real estate projects such as industrial properties or apartment buildings.
How is this related to the circular economy?
EcoCocon Wall Panels are Cradle to Cradle certified. 89% of the straw in the wall panel is from agricultural surplus from local suppliers (10-20km from the factories). Each EcoCocon wall panel and property is digitally coded for possible material banking and reuse. Alternatively, the straw can be returned to the field after use.
